The University of Houston-Downtown Police Department (UHDPD) and UHD Emergency Management will be conducting a Lockdown Drill on campus March 16 - 17.

The annual Lockdown Drill entails activation of the Lockdown (red panic buttons) system by UHDPD. Emergency Management and UHDPD staff will check automatic door locking mechanisms across campus and document any components that require servicing. Every UHD classroom that has an electronic (fob) entry lock falls under this system. In addition, several public-facing offices can activate the Lockdown system. Once the Lockdown system is activated, the doors can open from the inside, so that occupants may exit; however, the doors are locked from the outside (hallway side).
