With its alluring interior and a truly impressive performance, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC is well-loved in the luxury compact SUV segment.

The GLC was first introduced in 2015, replacing the GLK series. This current generation debuted in 2016 and has slowly evolved over the years into one of the most luxurious models of the luxury vehicle brand, Mercedes-Benz.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC class comes in four different trims which are the GLC 300, the GLC 43, the GLC 63, and the GLC 63S. Also, they differ greatly in performance. However, they're quite similar in styling and have slightly different bodywork. Since they came on board, they have become one of the best-selling SUVs in the United States.

The most admirable feature of the GLC has to be its styling. Both its interior and exterior styling are impressive. Everything about the car speaks of luxury and comfort.

On the exterior, it has a top-notch beautifully trimmed design, flowing body lines, and a nicely carved front grille, which gives the exterior a sporty look. Its full LED headlights, both in the front and in the rear, command attention. Its night package provides a more aggressive front look with gaps on the splitter to cool the engine. Also, it has gorgeous light trims in the dark.

The interior of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC is roomy and spacious. It has enough headroom and legroom with excellent door paddings and adds wood trim accents to its high-quality leather designs. The seats have firm grips and provides great comfort. This car can be as silent as a vacuum when the doors are closed, thanks to its heat and noise insulating system.

Its overall styling gives it a more poised and powerful look than ever.

The first in this trim is the GLC 300. This luxury car balances its decent performance with luxury. This trim has a 2-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

It produces 255 horsepower and 272 pound-foot of torque. This engine can drive it from 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds, while its top speed is 131 mph. Rear-wheel-drive is standard, however, all-wheel-drive upgrade is optionally available.

For better performance, the GLC 43 AMG got a 3.0 V6 bi-turbo engine and is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Its engine produces 355 horsepower, driving the car from 0-60 mph within 4.7 seconds. This model adopts an all-wheel-drive system, sending the power to all wheels and providing more balance for the car.

For much more gut-wrenching performance, the GLC 63S has it all. Its 4.0 liter V8 bi-turbo engine drives the car from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds at a top speed of 174 mph, making it the fastest in the class of the GMCs.

Its automatic transmission is real quick, and it has a sharp and responsive braking system to match its energy.

Mercedes-Benz is one of the leading automotive companies in technology. Its 2022 GLC comes with wireless charging, heated front seats, and smartphone integration as standard. The GLC also comes with Mercedes' MBUX system as a standard feature. Its 10.25-inch touchscreen is the control center of this system.

However, you can customize the settings on the screen from a number of places and not just on the screen. It uses voice command, a touchpad on the center console, and some buttons on the steering wheel for those who want to keep their hands on the wheel at all times. The screen has a great graphics display, and it's quite responsive.

What's new on the 2022 GLC?

Although, the 2022 trims of the GLC are almost the same as those of the 2021 trims, nonetheless, there are a few added changes. These include the automatic high-beam headlights and USB ports for the rear seats that come standard on all trims as well as a rose gold paint exterior color. Also, the premium package now comes with a hands-free entry.

The long-expected facelift didn't come with the 2022 trims. However, the new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC seems more exciting, especially with a different exterior feature.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC is near perfect, with just some concern about its cargo space. It has a decent cargo space of 19 cubic feet in the rear and 57 cubic feet when its rear seats are folded.

However, this is nothing close to its key rivals, such as the 2022 Audi Q5, which has a cargo space of 25.8 cubic feet and 54 cubic feet with folded rear seats. There's also the BMW X3 with a rear cargo space of 28.7 cubic feet and 62.7 cubic feet with folded seats. This seems to be the only shortcoming of the GLC. However, it is one several buyers can overlook.

The base price for a new GLC model is $43,850, this is just about a few hundred bucks higher than the price of the 2021 model. Mercedes' GLC is one to have. It's a combination of great styling, good performance, and unmatched tech features.
