A 22-year-old man from East Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling and is currently in police custody.

A spokesperson for Co-op, confirmed: "There was an incident in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, 13 September) at our East Cowes store.

"Damage was caused to the doors, so the store opened later than usual, after allowing for essential repairs to make the site safe and secure.

"CCTV was shared with police, and we would like to thank them for their response. The store has since re-opened to serve the community."
