The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport is not only stylish, but also comes packed with safety features that are usually found in more expensive cars.
The Nissan Roque Sport, Rogue and Kicks are like your kids; all are equally loved. But the Rogue Sport is among the safest cars in the world at the moment, and that's a claim we're so accustomed to hearing over dinner, about Volvos.
It has proved to be immensely capable as an SUV for the city be it clogged streets or crammed roadways. Don't mistake the small dimensions of this Nissan crossover for what might result in less space and cargo room, because it's a great buy for someone looking for extra room, but can't stretch to a full-size SUV.
But the whole point of this feature story is to let you know that it's loaded with a host of standard safety and technology features. Power isn't something we could possibly write home about, but the handling is relatively good, and the SUV comes with the option of all-wheel-drive.

This Nissan hasn't earned that claim for nothing. Get a load of this: the Nissan Safety Shield 360 comes standard on all grades of the SUV, and this includes front, side and rear safety monitoring and intervention technologies.
It also comprises Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, Rear Automatic Braking and radar-based Blind Spot Warning.
The Rogue Sport also packs-in standard Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, which basically keeps an eye on two cars in the front, and the moment it senses deceleration of the car in front of it, it warns you to slow down. Intelligent Lane Intervention, also standard, can detect if the SUV is moving out of its lane and automatically brakes gently, to ensure the SUV moves back on track.
On the SL grade, customers get Intelligent Driver Alertness and Traffic Sign Recognition. The former can also be had on the SV Technology Package. Safety and security features coming in the form of a Nissan Advanced airbag system, along with dual-stage front airbags with seat belt and passenger classification sensors.
It also gets front seat-mounted side impact airbags, rear seat-mounted side airbags, front knee airbags, roof-mounted curtain side impact airbags and a rollover sensor for front and rear seat head protection.
The Rogue Sport comes across as a compact, sharp-looking SUV with muscle and curved surfaces, giving it a good presence and stance. At the front, it features an aggressive look, along with the V-motion grille and LED signature DRLs that come standard.
At the rear too, the Rogue Sport doesn't fall short on style. It looks particularly wide from the rear and features a huge rear opening, plus there's a rear spoiler that comes standard. The stylish LED headlights feature low and high-beam, along with auto on/off function and fog lights as well.
It also features black cladding over the wheel arches, heated door mirrors with integrated turn signals, heated roof rails and a power-sliding moon roof available on the SL Premium Package. The Rogue Sport comes with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, but there's a 19-inch wheel option for the SL grade. The Rogue Sport gets full marks as far as the design goes, so yes, your driveway is not going to look dull.
Like the outside, the inside too is well-designed and put-together. Seated in the driver's seat, you get a great view out-front, and there's a sporty air to cabin that enthusiasts are likely to love. The SUV features a standard 6-way adjustable driver's seat, a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, a rear armrest at the back and rear seat cooling/heating center console vents.
The Rogue Sport also features the Divide-N-Hide cargo system that's standard on SV and SL grades. The instrument panel gets electroluminescent gauges and a 5.0-inch center meter color display. There's even Nissan's Intelligent KeyTM with push-button start.

It may share the same name and platform with its siblings, but it's a looker, affordable and nimble to drive, which are more of its own set of characteristics. The wheelbase is shorter than the Rogue, but this helps when it comes to maneuverability in the city, plus it makes it perfect for tight parking spots. The Rogue Sport is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine that pushes out 141 hp and 147 lb-ft of torque. Paired to the engine is a Xtronic transmission.
The Rogue Sport comes with independent rear multi-link suspension that contribute significantly to its nimble handling. The steering is quite responsive for what is an electric power-assisted unit, but it's at its best only in the Sport setting. The intelligent all-wheel drive responds and adapts to the conditions; it first sends power to front and rear wheels, and once you gain pace, all the power is sent to the front.
