The biggest news for Mini for the 2023 model year is a broad range of new special editions the automaker offers across its entire lineup. Buyers can purchase the Mini Hardtop and Convertible in the Resolute Edition, Clubman in the Untold Edition, and the Countryman in the Untamed Edition. All the new variants offer unique interior and exterior treatments, and some also have powertrain tweaks.

In a welcome change, Apple CarPlay is now standard across the entire model range regardless of trim level. In many instances, as detailed later, buyers can order adaptive cruise control (ACC) as a standalone option, another change that customers will surely appreciate.

A special edition is the headline-grabber on the 2023 Mini Clubman. Mini fits the Untold Edition of the Mini Clubman with a 301-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. It delivers power via an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and all-wheel-drive system. Painted in Sage Green Metallic, the Untold Edition has revised front and rear fascias, 3D-printed side scuttles, and stripes across the hood and roof. Inside, there's an anthracite-colored headliner and Sage Green leather sport seats.

Mini has extended three variations of its multi-tone roof to the Clubman's Signature and Iconic trims. The model's advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) package now includes parking assistance and a head-up display. At the same time, ACC is now a standalone option.

The changes to the Mini Convertible for 2023 include a special edition and equipment-level tweaks. The model's ADAS package now includes parking assistance and a head-up display. Also, Mini pulled ACC from the ADAS package and made it a standalone option.

The 2023 Mini Cooper S Convertible joins the broad array of special-edition cars with the Resolute Edition. A 178-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine powers the limited-run variant and, according to Mini, enables the sportster to accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in 6.7 seconds. With an interior finished in Rebel Green, the Convertible's Resolute Edition bows to the current Bronze Age with bronze-finished headlight surrounds, grille, side scuttles, and door handles.

The battery-electric Mini Cooper SE 2-Door Hardtop has a unique drivetrain, but for the new model year, it gets changes similar to those of its conventionally powered Hardtop siblings. This includes a Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition with similar features to those previously described for the Mini Cooper Convertible. It includes extensive use of bronze-finish trim. Adaptive cruise control is available on the Cooper SE Signature Plus trim.

The Cooper SE also gets a new exterior paint choice for 2023; Mini now offers Island Blue on the Signature Plus and Iconic trims. New upholstery choices are available for 2023 as well.

The most important news regarding the 2023 Mini Countryman crossover SUV is the addition of the Untamed Edition. Available on Cooper S Countryman, Cooper S Countryman All4, and Cooper SE Countryman All4 plug-in hybrid, the new version takes the Countryman in a more defined off-road direction. The gray and black exterior features a black roof, roof rails, and exterior mirror caps. The radiator grille, headlight, and taillight surrounds are piano black. So are the door handles, tailpipe trim, and vehicle lettering. The 18-inch alloy wheels are unique to the Untamed Edition. Interior trim features nature-inspired green and blue.

As in the Clubman, the Countryman's ADAS package now includes parking assistance and a head-up display, but ACC, formerly part of that package, is now a standalone option.

Mini offers the Hardtop in 2-door and 4-door body styles, but for 2023 only the 2-door comes in the Resolute Edition. A 189-hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine propels the newest variant. According to Mini, with the standard 6-speed manual transmission, the Hardtop will sprint from zero-to-60 mph in 6.5 seconds, and with the optional 7-speed Steptronic transmission, the time drops by a tenth of a tick to 6.4 seconds. The car's top speed is a claimed 145 mph.

The Resolute Edition of the Hardtop has a green exterior with a white roof and exterior mirror caps. The headlight surrounds, radiator grille, taillights, side scuttles, door handles, and fuel-filler cap are among the trim pieces finished in bronze. Inside, the special edition has a steering wheel covered in Nappa leather and checkered seat fabric.

For the 2023 model year, "Zesty Yellow" exterior paint has wider availability across the 2-Door and 4-Door Hardtops. Two additional multi-tone roofs are also available in the Signature and Iconic trims.

As with the Convertible, the Hardtops' driver-assistance package now includes parking assistance and a head-up display. Formerly part of the standard ADAS suite, ACC is a separate option on the Hardtops.
