As part of Nisbets Live, Nisbets’ first trade show, the dealer revealed the winner of an Innovation Challenge competition.

The catering equipment giant invited its suppliers to submit their most cutting edge products for the initiative, with the shortlist of 14 drawn up by an expert panel.

Visitors to Nisbets Live, held at the company’s National Catering Equipment Centre in Bristol on 9-10 March, were then invited to vote for their favourite innovations.

The winner was then announced by Nisbets’ head of commercial development, Richard Ebbs, at the end of the second day of the show.

And the victor was Lincat’s new cooking technology, which will be revealed at a 2-day event this month, with the official launch following on Monday 25 April.

Nisbets Live visitors got a sneak peek at the latest Lincat advance, even before it is formally unveiled. The win means the new product will now be featured on the Nisbets homepage once it is launched.

Nisbets’ Ebbs praised: “There has been some really fantastic innovation this year and it was a very close final, with only one vote between the top two.”

It was Santos’ Brushless Blender #66 that just missed out on the win, with Ebbs congratulating the food preparation equipment brand on “doing such a great job”.

The blender is equipped with a double security system for operator safety – the motor stops immediately when the bowl is removed from its base or when the lid is opened.

The rest of the challenge competitors were Bravilor’s Sego automatic espresso machine; Dynamic’s combined vegetable slicer, food processor and blend and mix; Araven’s gastronorm 1/1 food safe pan; Hobart’s Two-Level Washer; Marco’s Pour’d 3 cold coffee dispenser; Winterhalter’s PT Workhorse warewasher; Rubbermaid’s AutoFoam LumeCel hand sanitiser dispenser; Blue Seal’s EHT10-L humidified holding cabinet; Steelite’s Aurora crockery collection; Foster’s EP700H G3 single door refrigerator; Churchill’s Studio Prints Kintsugi plates; and the FriFri Touch fryer.
