The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is called the "ultimate" Bronco for several amazing reasons.
The all-new sixth generation of Ford Bronco came back to the United States market in 2021 and has been one of the best compact off-roaders out there. The impressive standard equipments coupled with a striking design made it an instant success as well. However, performance was always a let-down for the Bronco and that problem is going to be solved with the launch of the brand new 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor.
Offered for a base MSRP of $68,500, this 4-door off-roader from Ford comes with the capable 418-hp twin-turbo V6 engine under the hood. The powertrain is shared with the Ford Explorer and that makes it much easier to drive anywhere, especially when compared to the regular Bronco which had a tendency to go out of breath on the highways. The long list of features and decent comfort factor are the other plus points of this ride. Competing with Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, here are 10 things you need to know before buying the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor.

Offered only in 4-door avatar, the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is a head turner when out on the road owing to the macho design language and all the intricate exterior details it comes with. The front-end looks enticing due to the conventional LED headlights with LED DRLs, massive Ford embossing on the grille, dual tow hooks, and impressive width and height.
This is an SUV that could go head-to-head with the likes of Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 and Land Rover Defender 110 on the design front. Ford has also managed to provide a long list of customization and personalization options. The side view is highlighted by the blacked-out cladding and roof. The 17" back alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires are a looker too.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is an off-roader's dream vehicle and what makes it even better is the long list of standard off-road equipment and features. The twin-turbo V6 under the hood is very capable of putting out superb acceleration times. The low-end and mid-range are much better than the inline-4 or the V6 engine under the hood of the regular Bronco.
Drive the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor through the hardcore off-road trails and the Raptor HOSS 4.0 system with Fox live valve 3.1 internal bypass semi-active dampers coupled with 37" rugged tires helps you to pull out with ease. The advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand engagement and the 10-speed automatic transmission are well-tuned for both highways and off-roads too.

Being the most expensive Ford Bronco trim out there, the 2022 Bronco Raptor comes loaded with many interior, exterior, and safety features. This includes dual-zone automatic climate control, SYNC 4 12" infotainment system, BLIS with rear cross-traffic alert, LED headlights and taillights, marine grade vinyl upholstery, and 7-speaker audio system.

Even though we would have liked a V8 engine under the hood, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque is smooth, refined, and powerful. This engine comes mated to a 10-speed torque converter automatic transmission and 4WD drivetrain as standard.
There are multiple driving modes on offer and this SUV is rated to 4,500 lbs of towing capacity. Put your foot down from a standstill and the 2022 Bronco Raptor could hit the 60 MPH mark in 5.6 seconds. The quarter-mile time of 14.4 seconds is excellent too.
If you expect this V6 with twin turbochargers to give out decent gas mileage, you are going to be disappointed. The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor can do only 15 MPG in the city and 16 MPG on the highways, equating to combined gas mileage of 15 MPG.
With a 20.8-gallon fuel tank capacity, the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor could do 312 miles in the city and 332 miles on the highways with a full tank of gas. In comparison, the regular Bronco with the inline-4 motor under the hood could punch out a superior combined gas mileage of 21 MPG.

The powerful V6 engine in the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor does help it in terms of towing and payload capacity. This makes it a versatile option for the segment too. It can tow up to 4,500 lbs and has a payload capacity of 1,155 lbs.
Even though the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is slightly more powerful than the Bronco Raptor as it comes with a 470 hp V8 engine under the hood, the Jeep could only tow a maximum of 3,500 lbs. The maximum payload capacity is lower than the Bronco Rubicon as well.
With the base price tag inching very close to the $70,000 mark, the buyers would expect to be greeted with a more luxurious and upmarket cabin. However, the interior dimension and design see no major changes from the regular 2022 Bronco, which might be a dealbreaker to some. Nevertheless, it gets a lot of standard cabin features and that is a major plus point.
Coming with marine-grade vinyl upholstery, rubberized flooring, and removable doors and roofs, the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor's interior offers the same open-air feeling of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 while being reasonably pretty on the inside. The white dashboard insert, orange contrast accents, and straight cabin design gel well with the overall character of the ride too.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor comes with the SYNC 4 12" touchscreen infotainment system and is loaded to the brim with all the features. The feature list includes wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, 911 assist, voice recognition, Bluetooth, and personal profiles.
It comes with a 7-speaker audio system as standard too. If you want a better audio experience, Ford also offers a Bang & Olufsen audio system with 10 speakers, a subwoofer, and built-in navigation with the Lux package.

However, the adaptive cruise control is an optional extra. In terms of the basic safety features, everything is included too. Even though the Bronco Raptor hasn't been crash-tested yet, the Bronco Sport managed to get an overall crash safety rating of 5-stars.
The warranty coverage provided by Ford is almost identical to what is offered by the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. It received 3 years or 36,000 miles of the limited warranty and 5 years or 60,000 miles of powertrain warranty.
The only downside is that the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor lacks the complimentary maintenance coverage, which is offered by the Jeep. In terms of recalls and complaints, the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor received nothing as mentioned on the NHTSA website. However, JD Power hasn't revealed the consumer ratings yet.
